Over the coming weeks we will be making some improvements and changes to the site to make it more user friendly and to add some new features. Part of these updates will simply update the software used in managing the site, so these might not be seen by most members... but other changes will hopefully improve things all around. During this time, if any members have any requests or suggestions for new things we can include, please let us know and we'll see what we can do. This site is for you, so your opinion is greatly valued.

In the meantime, if we are planning any lengthy downtime to make changes, we'll let you know as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies if any services are temporarily unavailable at any point, and be assured that we will keep downtime to a minimum.

This is an open message of thanks (and welcome) to all our visitors, be they regular posters, quiet lurkers, occasionally visitors or new guests. Each and every one of you is important to us, and we hope you enjoy our site.

If you're a Guest/first time visitor, then let us wish you a huge welcome to My Betta. Our site aims to provide you with any and all information we can about keeping, caring for and breeding bettas. Our first priority is always the welfare of any fish, but we have a friendly, cheerful community of people here who would love to get to know you and hear all about your fishkeeping (or even non-fish related) experiences, and indeed your fish! So why not sign up and introduce yourself and your aquatic friends - we don't mind if you don't want to chat all the time, or if you don't have a question to ask, we'd just like to know more about our visitors and those we help from time to time. Please note... we all love photos - so get out that camera! If one of our articles, or one of our members has helped you at some point then please share your story, or just show your appreciation with a nice photo (of you, your bettas, your other fish, or anything really... we're not picky!).

Of course it goes without saying that most of this applies to the more silent members of our community... we know you're out there (;D) and we love you all whether you post or not. But as I've already mentioned... we don't care if you've got no questions to ask, or problems that need solving... feel free to introduce yourself anyway, or pop into The Lounge for a random natter about anything at all!

And then there's our regular posters, and more active members... without you we wouldn't have as much information to share with our visitors. Each time you ask a question, or offer advice, you potentially help many, many others who may have the same problem or query! So thank you! You make our community more tangible and make this site a success x

Love and happy fishkeeping

The My Betta site and forum have now reached their 2nd anniversary and as we move into our third year we're hoping to see a new direction in the world of bettas. The number of UK breeders with UK bred stock for sale is definitely at a low, and there aren't many quality bettas in LFS either. Hopefully things will change this year.. I know I'm on the lookout for some good breeding stock, and we hope a few of you are too.

As for My Betta, we've had almost 125,000 visitors so far with 158 members and over 9000 posts over the last couple of years and hopefully we've helped a lot of our members, and even just guests. I kow the betta scene is quiet at the moment, and so our site seems to be - we like to think that this is because we're all taking such good care of our bettas that we don't have any problems to ask about lol... but don't forget that you can drop in just for a chat anytime - even if its non betta related. We all seem to be just lurkers at the moment!

Finally, huge thanks go to our staff and to our moderators Keith, Malc and Scott for all their help and input - the forum couldn't run without you! Remember, all our staff are volunteers who love fishkeeping and want to help others in the hobby - so are a valuable source of information and advice! Contact any of them using the Staff List link at the top of the page.

So here's to another great year for My Betta and for all of our members too!

My Betta would like to wish all our members the very best for the New Year! We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed the New Year celebrations. As My Betta approaches its second birthday we hope to continue to provide help and advice, along with a place to chat, and plan to bring some improvements to the site over the coming months. As always we welcome any suggestions and hope to involve our members in improving the site and the service we provide. Watch this space for more news coming soon.
